Herbal medicine can come in various forms, and treat a variety of Ailments. Each person is unique with individual needs and circumstances, and each herbal formula is tailored to each individual person. The process to deciding which herbs would be a fit for someone begins with an initial herbal consultation. This is an in depth interview/assessment for the herbalist to understand everything that's going on for a person and to make valuable connections with regards to an individuals needs. This generally takes somewhere around 60-90 minutes. The next part of the process is for the herbalist to go behind the scenes to do any necessary research and design the formula. Once the herbalist has decided on which herbs and format to use, they will confirm the herbs and cost with the patient. Once the herbalist gets the go ahead from the patient the herbalist will dispense the herbs and arrange for delivery/pick up. The first batch will be relatively small in order to make sure it's a good fit for the patient. A follow up appointment is recommended within 1-2 weeks in order to evaluate progress and make adjustments if necessary. However, if the herbs are working wonderfully and no adjustment needs to be made, the patient can choose to order more herbs and have a follow up at a later time.

Hi folks, thanks for wanting to know a little more about me.

I graduated from Pacific Rim College in Victoria with my Diploma of Acupuncture Magna Cum Laude, and achieved licensing through CTCMA as a Registered Acupuncturist. Acupuncture, Tuina massage, Guasha, cupping, acupressure, moxibustion and electrotherapy are many of the modalities I offer during a treatment.

For 17 years I was a nurse working at the local hospitals in Victoria and more recently teaching student nurses as well as working in trauma recovery/addictions.

After a life changing workplace injury, it became clear to me that our conventional medical system was lacking some important pieces, so I set out on a quest to learn more about alternative medicine.

I am committed to continuous learning and furthering my knowledge, and I am passionate about helping people. I have additional training in energy healing/Reiki, life coaching, metaphysics, herbal medicine, DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy), mental health and awareness, Aromatherapy, teaching and course development, Indigenous Awareness and LGBTQ2+ Inclusion.

I am fascinated with herbal medicine and continue to pursue this knowledge. I am fascinated by mycology and experimenting with growing medicinal and culinary mushrooms. I love growing my own food and medicine as well as learning how to do this in organic and sustainable ways.

Still studying herbal medicine in this lifelong journey. I’m on my last handful of classes at Pacific Rim before I graduate the Phytotherapy program, but I’ve been using herbs to heal my family and friends for over 20 years. I love making my own medicine whether it’s grown in my own garden or gently and carefully wild harvested. With a background in nursing I can understand many common western diagnosis and look forward to helping people feel better. Some have asked if in the future I will expand my education to include Chinese herbs and the short answer is yes… in time. Until then I’m happy to use the traditional herbs available in the classic apothecary’s cupboard.
